Wanna Buy Some NASCAR Sweat?
If you’re in the mood to pony up for someone else’s sweaty towel, we have just the thing for you.
NASCAR driver Tony Stewart has been kind enough to part with salty body-cooling by-product all in the name of charity. Following his win at the Stater Bros. 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on February 25, Stewart toweled off with and then autographed an Old Spice towel.
(Are we the only ones who think the impression of “sweat” and “Old Spice” in the same sentence is not the best way to boost brand image?)
Inclined to take a whiff of Eau de Post-Race Stewart? You can bid on the towel, which is up for auction (until March 4) at www.tonystewart.com. A shout-out to enthusiastic reader Pat for giving us the—pun alert—”inside track.”
What’s next on the auction block, Kurt Busch’s tighty-whities? Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s unwashed socks? Jeff Gordon’s t-shirt after a long day?
Never mind that. The really scary thing is that some people (you know who you are) just got really excited when we mentioned the notion of auctioning those unmentionables . . .
