Is there anyone who didn’t love Paul Newman?
The philanthropic Oscar-winning actor and beloved family man, was also known to the sports world as a racecar enthusiast.
With such a bright light having dimmed, it’s no wonder the track seems dark.

We all know Danica Patrick has a little edge to her from time to time. And we all know she isn’t the most popular kid on the block among other IRL drivers.
Once upon a time, we thought she was cute even when she was mad, as evidenced by our commentary in this video of a […]

Usually when we post crash videos on Gossip On Sports there’s a happy ending: no one was hurt or injuries were minor and not life-threatening.
Not this time.
NHRA champion drag racer Scott Kalitta was killed Saturday when his car burst into flames during the qualifying round of an event at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. The clip (3ms, […]

Is it just us, or is Danica Patrick cute even when she’s mad? Maybe this bloggerette just has a soft spot for fellow petite chicks.
Anyway, Danica was none too happy about being knocked out of the Indy 500 yesterday on lap 171 by Ryan Briscoe. The pit exit dust-up—for which Briscoe is not apologetic—literally led to the […]

IRL driver Danica Patrick got into a much-publicized accident last week when her car struck a crewman from another team during Indy 500 practice. It was pretty head-scratching and had an overall air of “WTF?” because let’s face it, Danica’s been around the track a few times.
But it all makes sense now, thanks to Frank Coffey […]

Open-car racer Danica Patrick was a media wunderkind long before winning her first race at the Indy Japan 300 last month. So it’s not the biggest shock ev-ah to hear that she’s been swamped with interviews lately.

But we had to chuckle upon reading Patrick’s words during an interview with FOX Sports:
It’s […]

No matter how many car crash or broken leg videos we see, we never ceased to be shocked by them. Nothing but minor injuries from this auto racing crash (31s–click on thumbnail) in Italy, believe it or not.
File this under “How on Earth Did the Driver End up With Only a Broken Ankle?”
Yikes:

Sure, Tony Stewart snagged his first victory at Talladega Superspeedway yesterday, but Kevin Lepage’s NASCAR no-no (16-car crash with over $3M in damages) hit the headlines, too.
Lepage’s boo-boo—zipping ahead of the pack straight off pit—sent Carl Edwards flipping (not, um, backflipping) and threw off 15 other drivers who, we’re guessing, used some colorful adjectives to describe Lepage yesterday. The race came to […]

Danica Patrick doubters take note: She’s not just a pin-up gal and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue hottie. And now she’s not the Anna Kournikova (title-less during her singles career) of racing because Danica Patrick won an IndyCar race.
The 50th time proved to be the charm for Patrick, who nabbed the Indy Japan 300 victory at Twin Ring Motegi on Saturday. The […]

Sigh. Tennis player Andy Roddick’s fan base is dwindling by the day.
First, he dashed the hopes of teenyboppers and twentysomethings holding out hope that maybe, just maybe, he’d stay in bachelorhood long enough for fate to intervene and throw them into coupledom. Alas, his engagement to Brooklyn Decker changed all of that.
And now, Roddick has […]
