Project Blog: Week One Winner and Week Two Prize
The judge and reader votes are in, and the winner of the Week One Challenge was . . . not me.
So anyway, the Week Two sponsor—
*Gets elbowed by stagehand, mutters ”You again? How come you only show up when we’re talking about Project Blog?” and sighs her characteristic threatrical sigh*
Oh, so I guess you want to know who won, right?
A hearty and heartfelt congratulations to fellow b5-er Kate Baggott! Kate was kind enough to leave a comment here, and her thoughtful first post earned her a well-deserved win.
*Checks script and grins when she realizes she didn’t blow her lines, despite being out of character*
Kate (and one lucky reader) won the Ecoist bracelet, but we’re pretty smug ourselves. Gossip on Sports finished in the top three and the judges hearted us for being “smart, sassy, and fun to read“! Of course, we knew that anyway, but it was super duper neat-a-roo to get a shout-out.
Besides, we already have our eyes on the Week Two prize, an e-cookbook by blogger (www.foodpast.com) and food historian Gillian Polack. First of all, yours truly and The Bee are foodies—why do you think I’m a gym rat, anyway?—so this is indeed a salivation-inducing, appetite-whetting prize. Second, Gillian’s e-cookbook has recipes from across the globe and is entitled “Chronicling the Fifth Deadly Sin,” the cleverness of which earns her a pocketful of gold stars from us. (Luckily, we obtained quite a few of them in grade school and kept every last one for just such an occasion). Gluttony gets a bad rap, so hats off to Gillian for uncovering the truth about it with such passion.
Want to enter? You can 1) leave a comment on this post by Project Blog host Allison Boyer pertaining to a “food fact” gleaned from Gillian’s feducational (that means “fun and educational”) blog; 2) mention the Project Blog contest at your own blog and trackback to allison.boyer at yahoo-dot-com; and/or 3) VOTE ON FRIDAY for Gossip on Sports and no one else your favorite entry in the Week Two Challenge to be issued Wednesday night.
We’re not overly disconcerted that it was “close but no cigar” for Gossip on Sports this week. It’s all part of the Master Come From Behind Plan. Just you wait and see.

You are smart, sassy and fun to read. But I am NOT sharing my bracelet no matter how much I like your blog. I would however, be prepared to negotiate should you win the cookbook and make me a piece of cheesecake.

Gillian–you’re welcome. We don’t give out gold stars to just anyone, you know. It would be GREAT if you came up with six more cookbooks to tie into the other deadly sins! (Sloth for quick meals, Lust for romantic meals, etc.)
Kate–thank you. Lucky for you, I know my way around the kitchen. So if I win Gillian’s e-cookbook, you’re ON! And congratulations on banking a win right out of the gate. (See how not guilty I am of one of the other deadly sins, Envy?). Seriously–you’re a peach of a competitor; keep up the good work. (But not TOO good).
