And no, the answer to my title question ISN’T:

“They all appeared on Dancing With the Stars.”

The threesome are the latest to be annointed American Public Diplomacy Envoy. Or so says Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who did the honors of choosing them.

Now if you think this is a little kooky and are perhaps worried that these folks might actually be running some part of our government (and really, why wouldn’t you?), don’t fret. Griffey, Kwan, and Drescher will help represent American Culture in other parts of the world.

Condie said, “When Ken Griffey travels overseas, one of his greatest objectives will be to talk to young people and to spark their interest in America and in our culture.”

Okay, I get that. Except, do we really need to pay for someone to fly all over the world and talk up American sports? To me, this seems like a pretty decent gig. (Perhaps I’m slightly jealous. I notice no one is sending me overseas to talk about blogging.)

Griffey, for his part, said, “After a certain age, you pretty much set your ways. But if we can reach out to young children about our culture and also about our pastime, which is baseball—not those other sports like football.” ~source

Oh no, Mr. Griffey! We would hate for other parts of the world to enjoy our football games.

Hey wait, isn’t the Superbowl the highest rated sports broadcast all over the world?

A-Rod is apparently a busy guy these days. What with drinking Kabbalah water with Madonna and all. But he found time to at least check out the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Miami over the weekend. ~source

If you’re one of those people who gets into trouble a lot…. let’s say you have a few scrapes with the law (about 13), and a few arrests (6), and you generally show ZERO remorse when you act up…. then where oh where can you go to find a decent job?

After all, employers today won’t really hire people who are massive troublemakers.

But then there’s the good ole NFL, who WILL hire you. More specifically, the Dallas Cowboys.

Yes, folks, PacMan Jones is coming back. He’ll return in a December 7th game.

Apparently all you have to do to stay employed on that team is put your uniform on and show up.

I’ve read one column that thinks he got off easily. I can’t help wondering what our Gossip on Sports fans think about PacMan coming back? Good idea? Hair-brained?

Has Kim Kardashian learned nothing from Jessica Simpson?

Kim says she wouldn’t rule out a Newlyweds type reality series should she and boyfriend Reggie Bush get married.

They aren’t even ENGAGED yet and she’s already got the guy eating his breakfast in front of the cameras!

She also said she gets asked about doing a reality show with Reggie all the time. But she says she’d have to convince Reggie to do it because, “He’s extremely shy. He’s a very private person, and he’s really focused on football.” ~source

Yeah, no kidding. Maybe that’s because he’s NORMAL, Kim! Normal people don’t want their every move filmed by camera crews! Especially when they just got married.

Although we know SHE’S not afraid of the cameras…… ahem…..

Did you hear about the Colorado fan that thought they would “help” its team win against Okaloma State? One of the fans brought a laser gun and tried to shine it in Quarterback Zac Robinson’s eyes. Matt Hinton has a really good picture of it here.

The laser apparently “hit Robinson’s visor and cost Oklahoma State a timeout before a 3rd-and-9 snap in the second quarter.” Check out the video here.

Of course, what do we say about cheaters? They never, ever prosper!

The Colorado cheater didn’t either. The play after the laser resulted in a 29-yard touchdown pass to Dez Bryant. Oklahoma went on to win the game 30-17.

Take that, Colorado fans!

Reggie Bush’s girlfriend Kim Kardashian (otherwise known as “The Tush“) will guest star on an upcoming How I Met Your Mother. Apparently she thought that meant she had to bring HER mother to the set.

She says, “Bob Saget, who is the show’s narrator, and cast member Jason Segel were there as well as my own mother, who everyone got to meet. Ha!”

Ha! Right back at ya, Kim. We’ll be sure to watch for you…

Not that she isn’t already one of the BEAUTIFUL people, but Total Nonstop Action (that’s TNA… get it?….”T” and “A”…) has invited Sarah Palin to join The Beautiful People, an “elite group of TNA Knockouts led by Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.” ~source

Apparently this special “Sarah Palin Ceremony” will be December 7th. In exchange for Palin’s involvement, TNA agrees to donate $50,000 to her favorite charity, or Alaskan Youth Hockey League.
