Colts Running Back Gets Arrested for Staying Put
Kenton Keith of the Indianapolis Colts got arrested for staying put in a nightclub parking lot, the irony of which is that he happens to be a running back who’s always on the move. Guess that doesn’t apply off the field.
According to ESPN, police said that besides Keith’s refusal to leave when they tried to clear out the lot after the nightclub’s 3 a.m. closing time, he yelled “at officers telling them he’s a Colts player who had done nothing wrong.”
Right, because the fuzz like it when you tell them how you’re a professional athlete and all. ‘Cause we all know sports figures never ever get arrested or anything.
Keith got bagged with a slew of misdemeanors: disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, and contributing to the deliquency of a minor. (Hey, that’s what happens when you bring a 19-year-old with you).
Unfortunately, there’s no particular charge for saying “I’m a Colts player” again and again. Nor is there any wrongdoing with a Colts player (*cough* Peyton Manning *cough*) doing too many commercials . . . which to us, is a far greater public offense than hanging out in a parking lot for too long.
