Second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera of the Cleveland Indians turned an unassisted triple play—only the 14th in MLB history. (Curious about lucky #13? That was Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies last year).
Before we show you the video from the other day, we want to note two things.
1. “Asdrubal” is one of the coolest first names […]

This is an unorthodox post and not at all snarky, but does have the spirit of sports: After all, the most superior athletes, best teamwork, most intense competition, and the highest stakes take place in nature.
Nat Geo (the National Geographic channel) aired a documentary about the YouTube sensation (over 31 million views as of this […]

IRL hottie and interview rambler Danica Patrick hit a pit crewman—no, not her own—in yesterday’s Indy 500 practice. Fortunately Charles Buckman, the man struck by Patrick’s Andretti Green Racing No. 7 car, didn’t sustain any long-term injuries. (Thanks for sending this, Pat!)
Expect every late-night talk show host on the air and a whole lotta blogs to make […]

If you’ve been scoping out the sports headlines the past few days, chances are you’ve heard about Indianapolis Colts WR Marvin Harrison being interviewed about a shooting that took place in his Philadelphia bar, Playmakers.

Harrison hasn’t been arrested or charged but the smoking gun is in his hands, or at least in […]

Sure, Tony Stewart snagged his first victory at Talladega Superspeedway yesterday, but Kevin Lepage’s NASCAR no-no (16-car crash with over $3M in damages) hit the headlines, too.
Lepage’s boo-boo—zipping ahead of the pack straight off pit—sent Carl Edwards flipping (not, um, backflipping) and threw off 15 other drivers who, we’re guessing, used some colorful adjectives to describe Lepage yesterday. The race came to […]

Yay for commenters who leave fun things for us to post! Last month we posted about Brandon Marshall, the Denver Broncos wide receiver who had a McDonald’s wrapper mishap. (We also did a follow-up to Marshall’s slip-and-fall and subsequent arm laceration). Reader “boltvolt” recently left us a YouTube link in that post and observed how this 2-year-old […]

As demonstrated by this fan during the Red Sox–Rangers game at Fenway Park (57s):

This gives new meaning to the notion of presidential candidates “duking it out.” Kind of.
Proving that multimedia appeals to the masses knows no bounds, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama will each deliver a (taped) message during a 3-hour edition of WWE’s “Monday Night RAW” tonight on the USA Network starting at 8 p.m. […]

We’re just not that into South Park. However, we are into making fun of people—even some of our favorite sports figures. (Here’s looking at you, Bill Belichick. But we wear the hoodie, so you’ll forgive us for this, right?)
Kudos to reader Prospero for giving us a heads up about this one: A South Park clip (1m, […]

Why not? It’s a Nike marketing gimmick that originally left some YouTubers thinking it *might* be real, but alas, the LA Lakers star admits (kind of) that it’s all Hollywood.
Still, this Kobe Bryant video (55s) gets an A+ in the Coolness Department. Good stuff.
