Take fellow blogger Mike Hayes, who has made us very jealous went on a Triple Crown trek hoping to see the action live when history was made.
He made us even more jealous also saw Roger Federer beat Andy Roddick at the 2007 U.S. Open and the New England Patriots beat the New York Giants in […]

If we weren’t so bummed out about Big Brown’s tremendous loss to Da’ Tara at the Belmont Stakes, we might joke that the last-minute scratch of the Hooters girls is to blame.
Alas, we were hoping to see a Triple Crown—we were still in diapers when Affirmed won in 1978—and so we’ll tone down the snark. (A little).

Or maybe he is but they really, really distract him during a race.
Or maybe Double D’s are bad luck in the horse world.
Or maybe Triple Crown hopeful Big Brown has a jealous filly back in the stable.
Whatever the reason, Hooters has been yanked as a sponsor for the Belmont Stakes favorite. The presumably “Shucks, just when I was getting […]

Big Brown’s convincing win at […]

No gossip or rumors or even snark here . . . just a tip of the hat to Eight Belles, the filly who came in second to the amazing Big Brown in the Kentucky Derby.
After crossing the finish line, Eight Belles collapsed with two broken ankles and was euthanized immediately.
Eight Belles (L) finishes second behind […]

Ah, Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. Boy do wish we were there, kitted out in a pretty chapeau and sipping a caipirinha. (To heck with mint juleps. We don’t like them, and we don’t care how “cairpirinha” translates).
If you want the dish on the Derby, b5 media’s Thoroughbred Fever will tell you all you need […]

Do you like to play the ponies? (That’s a horseracing reference, for those of you with something not-PG-13-approved on your minds).
Well, if you need the morning line, the scoop for your Triple Crown picks, or some dish on Saratoga Springs before you head there for a weekend jaunt, Jarrod Horak’s new b5 blog, Thoroughbred Fever, […]
