Campus Police Officers in Kentucky Can’t Take a Joke
Did Kentucky become a crankypants state because in the NCAA Tournament, Kentucky didn’t make it past the first round, Western Kentucky fell in the Sweet Sixteen, and Louisville dropped in the Elite Eight?
Could be. How else to explain the drastic charges following Jeff Ehrhardt’s prank? The 20-year-old sophomore and Murray State quarterback pushed a campus police officer and took his ticket book . . . and was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery.
The charge has draconian potential: It *could* theoretically result in a prison term of up to 10 years. (Though as The Bee pointed out, the judge is likely to giggle while slamming down the gavel and saying ”Dismissed!”)
We’re not sure whether or not Murray State is located in a dry county, but someone please take those guys to the nearest watering hole for a shot. They need to lighten up.
