A Lesson in Super Bowl Stupidity
Forget the Super Bowl MVP, whoever it may be for XLII. A new award is about to be given: the Super Bowl USP (”Unbelievably Stupid Player”).
Can we have the envelope, please?
*Sound of rustling as the Super Bowl USP envelope is ripped open with Tazmanian Devil-like tenacity*
And the Unbelievably Stupid Player award goes to . . . Adrian Awasom of the New York Giants!
Yes, the Giants’ backup defensive end decided to see if there’s anything to that whole “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” thing. While in Arizona with his NFC Championship team, Awasom was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and cited with “extreme” DUI.
Awasom, who’s been on injured reserve since September, was told by the team to pick up his toys and go home.
Hope he enjoys watching the Big Dance on a Big-Screen TV instead of, you know, in a uniform with his teammates in the stadium.
